About

A series of octavo-sized publications dedicated to the typographical 'And', [and '&']. Begun as a student exercise at the Werkplaats Typografie, in collaboration with Paul Elliman, the 'And' series is inaugurated with the breathless essay 'And' by American novelist and literary critic William H. Gass, first published in 1986. Gass ruthlessly circumnavigates the And, extrapolating and testing the meanings of one of the most restless conjunctions in the English language.

The next booklet in the series will be a contribution by Amsterdam based graphic designer Jens Schildt, to be released in March 2012.
